2022 - May Beacon
pushed over before we can complete the work on the dock extension. However, we still plan to have this work complete by Opening weekend.
During our March & April Board of Directors meetings we discussed several communication improvements. We are happy to report to the membership that several areas of concern have been addressed. Our club is in a strong financial position. This is probably the best financial position for NCYC in over 15 years but, we have several large expenditures lined up in the next 12 months. The membership has done a great job of planning and we can approach these improvements with confidence. This board has also made an extra effort to effectively communicate to our membership in a consistent and straight forward manner our financial position. It can be found on the website in the “Documents/Financial Documents” section. A consistent/monthly publication of the Beacon, chucked full of the club’s business, updated lake information as well as great boating tips Open line of communication with our committees to ensure we are honoring the traditions of NCYC At the April Board of Directors Meeting, we reviewed several clarifications and suggestions to club policies presented by the Guidelines, Policy & Traditions Committee. After careful review, much discussion and a few changes to the proposals the board has approved changes to the following items. These changes will be noted in the 2022 Roster and/or discussed at the Fitting Out General Membership meeting.
1) Upstairs Sleeping Rooms 2) Kitchen & Storage Facilities 3) Fin Runner 4) Guests & Visiting Yachtsmen 5) Dress Code for Flag Officers and Past Commodores 6) Use of Island boat wells
Your board is also making an extra effort to document, in detail, each directors responsibilities throughout the year as well as assignments for opening & closing the club. Our plan is to publish this information on the NCYC website for future boards to use.
