Clubhouse
Well, the Clubhouse is still there. I’m grateful to the Membership: First, letting me know when there are issues in the Clubhouse and second, in some cases taking the initiative to address issues in the Clubhouse as they present themselves. Of course, there are going to be issues throughout the season, and I appreci ate everyone’s engagement in letting me know and addressing them.
We have a couple of issues ongoing, that we’re continuing to work through:
• We’ve engaged a contractor to update our internet connectivity. The work, unfortunately, is ongoing. The most significant bit of progress is that our Point-of-Sale registers behind the register have not had issues maintaining their internet connections. However, contrasting with that progress is that our internet connectivity for the Membership still needs to be addressed. In particular, the connectivity in the Harbor and Robeson is poor and bandwidth is not reliable. I continue to work with our IT Officer and Contractor to move this work forward and hope to have this to a resolution and acceptable steady state before the end of the month. • The Big Pig – As a requirement for our generator, we have doubled the capacity of our propane tank at the mainland dock from 500 lbs to 1000 lbs. Cummins, the generator vendor visited the island on 7/18/23 to perform their testi ng. As a result of that testing, we’ve identified an issue with the gas pressure coming across the channel. As a result, we are not getting full capacity on our generator currently. There have been preliminary discussions on what can be done to improve pressure for the generator. None of them are particularly palatable or inexpensive. So, we’re going to need to do some more homework to assess what we can do to address this issue. • Finally, I’ll be scheduling another pest control treatment, date to be T BD but I will be cognizant of event schedules and rendezvous and coordinate with the weekday OD.

Harbor & Grounds
If you have been to the island or may have seen some pics online you are aware that the trees on the Robinson that where topped are coming in beautiful and our shade is returning rather quickly, so much so that we have decided to continue with the topping of the trees. Next one up is the first willow on the river closest harbor.
I would like to give a shout out to Jenn Grant Robertson for their generous donation of a new basketball net, basketballs, and football for all to enjoy.
I’m not sure if anybody has been paying attention to our new once lit buoys out in the river. Both lights have been removed from the buoys and what I am being told is that they have been hit and the lights come off and returned to us. If we decide to relight the buoys, we are going to have to figure out a better way to secure them. I will be looking for a few helpers once again to help with cleaning the BBQ’s and getting them back into tip top shape so your BBQ experience at the island will be second to none. Please keep a look out for the fan out. Also please let someone know if you notice a shortage of full BBQ tanks so we can get them refilled in a timely manner.
