Commodore’s Comments

Welcome to the June 13, 2024, Board of Directors Meeting.

Let me start by saying thank you all, This Board continues to show its commitment to teamwork, to work together to get the job done. I think we have had a great start to the 2024 boating season starting with an awesome Fitting Out Party and Flag Raising Memorial Weekend a great time was had by all. Looking forward into 2024 we have a lot of fun filled weekends ahead of us through the next 4 months looks like we have something going on just about every weekend we’re going to have a blast. A Special Thank to our NCYC Ladies My wife Jill, Christa Betts and Shelley Sweier for jumping right in and preparing an awesome Spaghetti dinner with amazing meatballs and all the fixings when Tom our Bald Chef came down with a case of Pneumonia and could not be on the island to serve Friday Night Dinner. June 7 th , due to bad weather, we had a short attendance so we have enough for a future Italian dinner. June and July are usually busy months for the NCYC Board and Flag. Any By-Law changes we may want to make need to have the language written and approved by the By-Laws Committee and Board by the August BOD meeting also the nominating committee has to get the slate ready and approved for the up coming election by the Labor Day GMM meeting, so there’s a lot for us to put together over the next 2 months these are things that need to be Board approved by the August meeting.

We received an anonymous $5,000.00 donation from a member.

Looking at this agenda there are many things to review and approve and I’m sure this Board will make short work of it in a short period of time, I’m counting on it.

I hope everyone is as excited as I am when I look around the club and see how beautiful our island is. Our Directors, Clubhouse Managers and all the behind the scenes members are in full beast mode with keeping up with their prospective job duties as they strive to keep our club running like a well-oiled machine for everyone’s enjoyment. As always, if you see something that needs attention, please bring it to our attention so we can give the issue some attention
