Just a few short weeks until the official start of spring but winter is not giving up easily! Fortunately we have two upcoming events to help see us through until the first Elite Brigade April 13. The ABYA Spring Rendezvous is being held March 8-10 at the Valley Plaza Resort in Midland, MI. On March 10, the NCYC Flag will participate in the Blessing of the Fleet at Mariner's Church in Detroit. All members should have received an email fanout and invitation to join these outstanding events. If not, please check your email address in the online roster to make sure it is accurate and up to date. Your NCYC Board of Directors is hard at work preparing a well organized, fun and productive 2019 boating season. I would like to commend a particularly well organized and hard working Club Secretary, Frank Corcoran, for reporting the "final" weekend OD and worker schedule is materially complete. All members should keep watch for messages from weekend OD's confirming weekend work schedules and initial details needed to prepare for the season. As I mentioned in my February comments, there is a tremendous amount of work ahead to prepare the Club for opening weekend. In addition to the usual cleanup and clubhouse preparation we have a huge challenge ahead to restore 100' of the Robison docks and walkway. Weather and river conditions permitting the work can start ahead of the first Elite Brigade on April 13. If you are interested in pitching in, please contact any Board member.
