Commodore’s Comments

Welcome to 2023, Rachel and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. It is truly an honor for me to be serving as your Commodore this year.

I want to thank everyone for coming to the Ball. Rachel and I hope you had a wonderful time! Thank you for all your hard work and contributions that made it a success. A special thank you to Past Commodore Dale and his lady Colleen for their tireless work serving the club and providing the great leadership that made last year great. This evening will be the start a lot of planning for a very successful 2023. We have a lot of very important decisions to make regarding policy changes as you can see from the agenda. Please remember we are all on the same team and we need to be a unified group in front of our membership. We all may not agree with all the decisions made, but we need to support each other so we don’t lose face with our membership. Also remember, what we discuss in our board meetings, stay with this group.

Please remember to make your appointment at Seiloft to get your picture taken. Time is of the essence.

I want to thank you in advance for all your hard work and dedication to the greatest club on the water.

Thank you,

Commodore Brian

Vice- Commodore’s Comment s

Happy New Year everyone. Welcome our new Board of Directors for 2023. Thank you Commodore Brian and First Lady Rachel for an Awesome Ball.

Looking at the agenda for this evening and thinking about some of the major changes that are going to be taking place right away this year. There are many policy changes that we must make plans for:

A. TIPS / MLCC Training

B. Wait list and Guest Policy and Procedures

C. MLCC Compliant

D. Insurance requirements These are a couple that are going to take some time to accomplish and I am confident looking around this table that this Board will have no problems working it out together; these are very important for us to handle before the opening of the club. And this can only be accomplished with Teamwork. Let me say we are the Governing body of the Club we need to make our decision based on the best interest of North Channel Yacht Club and the Membership. Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork!
