Past Commodore Bill Calihan Comments The ABYA held its first in person General
Membersh ip Meeting for the 2021 boating season, March 1 st , 2021. The meeting was hosted by the Nautical Mile Yacht
Club and held at Zef’s Dockside Restaurant. It was announced at that meeting that Rear Commodore Alexsay Karpowitsh resigned. This leaves this position open to any Commodore/Commander, past or present, from any member club to fill this position. The ABYA intends to have more fund raisers this year, but on a smaller scale. The first is as follows. Horse race Spaghetti Charity Dinner to be held April 11 th , 2021 and hosted by the Huron Pointe Yacht Club. Contact Jill Romantz for information. ABYA Spring Dinner Dance is to be held at the North Channel Yacht Club June 4 th , 5 th . Save the date and watch for further information. Other related ABYA events as follows. The Blessing of the Fleet held at the Old Mariners Church of Detroit will be this Sunday March 14 th . This year the participants will be limited to 70 persons due to the Coved 19 epidemic. The Detroit Power Squadron will hold its annual event, A one day trip to Put in Bay on Friday June 25 th .The price per person is $92.00 dollars.
