Commodore’s Comments Commodore, Rick Romatz Welcome to August 7, 2024, Board of Directors Meeting. This Board continues to show its commitment to teamwork, to work together to get the job done. I think we are having a great ride through the 2024 boating season. Looking back at July through early August, Fleet Captains Shelly and Gary and Team did an awesome job again with the 2 nd Rendezvous at Cove Marina in Tilbury Ontario with a great turn out from the membership. Jill, Shelby and a huge team put together an awesome Kids Day one that I’m sure the kids will have memories for a long time, it was one of the biggest attended Kids Day in awhile; it was great to see the faces on all of our children, thank you to most of the people sitting in this room for your help making this event successful. Lastly the Ancient Mariners Horse Race Fundraiser was a great success, also what a great turn out of members and the donations for the live auction were great. Looking at this agenda there are many important things to start thinking about to review and approve like the upcoming 2024 election process and By-law changes and the 2025 Budgets, Forecasts and Projects for the upcoming year. I’m confident this Board wi ll make the right decisions.

I want to thank Commodore, Bill F, Shelly Sweier, Mark Javery, and John O'Leary for spending time looking at and crafting what I think is a really good update for out-of-the-area boaters. Mark is going to cover later on.

Awning Update - The awning is going up on Friday.

We have a Save-The-Date …..the 2025 Commodore’s Ball will be on January 11th. The block is open for reservations, and will also be hosting a dinner event at War Water Brewery on Friday, Jan 10th. and make sure to call the main line at the hotel and do not go through the website.
